Twitter’s Buy Now Button Now Available For Retailers

Twitter wants its users to do more shopping via twitting.After more than per year of testing, the social network introduced Wednesday that its Buy Now button is available to thousands of retailers in the us. Twitter is partnering with major e-commerce platforms Shopify, Bigcommerce along with Demandware, so merchants using those three platforms is now able to sell their products about Twitter.

“The goal for those our commerce initiatives on Twitter is easy: make it as easy as it can be for businesses to connect directly with, and advertise to, customers on Twitter, ” said Nathan Hubbard, Twitter’s go of commerce, in a article. “With Buy Now, businesses can drive a lot more conversions and remove much of the friction in the actual mobile purchasing process. “

The expansion gives Twitter’s 316 trillion users increasing options to not only talk about products on the spot, but to buy them there at the same time. It could also build a new stream of revenue for Twitter since it struggles to attract a lot more users.

The updated service for that San Francisco-based company comes as competitors including Pinterest, Instagram along with Facebook have adopted or tested a buy-button method.

Earlier this month, Twitter announced a partnership with another e-commerce platform, Stripe, as part of a test to allow visitors to buy products via the twitter and myspace. Users could purchase products in as few as two taps, one on the buy button an additional to confirm the buy.
